In the south of Utrecht, located on the Lek, you will find the stables of Egbert Schep, also known under the name Stal Schep. We mainly focus on young talented sport horses, which for a large part come from our own breeding and rearing. Every year about 30 to 35 foals are born at Stal Schep, all out of proven damlines, so the foundation is laid for a future top horse. Besides our own breeding, we rear a large number of young horses, which are purchased based on the performances of the dam line. Selection is the key word in our rearing: the best young talents remain by strictly selecting our young horses on quality and health.

A part of our selected talents are prepared for the stallion inspection as 2 years old. Our success is shown by the large number of approved stallions that have already emerged from our stable.

A motivated team of professional riders and grooms takes care of the training of the young talented sport horses. Our young sport horses are competing every week, in order to prepare them for an (international) career. Already many good sport horses managed to find their way to the top sport via Stal Schep.
